Lost landmass

A trident, hurled down from the heavens, split the continent in twowith a single stroke.

The peninsula at its tipis severed from the mainland.

On the flat cut surface, striped layers of sediment are visible.

The trident rises back into the sky, then plunges its prongsinto the earth once more.

The peninsula is lifted effortlessly, and floats up into the heavens.

I take a big bite of that slice of shortcake.
