What I thought about on the escalator

An escalator has the same shape as stairs, yet you do not have to walk.It feels strange.

It is curious that a device meant for walking upand one meant for being carried share the same design.

Stairs have steps at equal intervalsso humans can advance at their natural stride.

An escalator has steps at equal intervalsso people can step onto it at any moment.

Starting from different purposes, yet arriving at the exact same form—itfeels like a miracle.

Or perhaps they made it resemble stairssimply to intuitively convey its function.

Just as my thoughts reach a tentative conclusion, the escalator arrives at the floor above.
